Boot Windows Vista Faster


Ever wonder how fast your windows feel after a fresh installation?

Then what goes wrong after few days?

Why it become so sluggish after a while?

Why it get slower over time?

The answers to these questions are installing too many fonts, Installing & uninstalling too many software, Shady websites, Installing Shareware or freeware application & Games, Windows accumulated junk files, Etc

But the good news is these things can be fixed.

Clear up the junk files

You can make your windows boot faster by trimming the fat. Simply browse to these 2 folders & delete whatever you get inside.

C:\Users\{Login Name}\AppData\Local\Temp

C:\Windows\Temp

Note: Make sure to close all the open applications before deleting these temp files.

Remove Fonts

Fonts have severe negative impact on Windows boot process. Don’t install more than 300 fonts on your system. You can have lots of fonts without even knowing it. To check the amount of installed in your system simply browse through

“Control Panel” >> “Fonts”

Delete all the fonts that you don’t need

Startup Program

Few software are designed to get into startup list to start faster. Its useful for the software that you use a lot, but problem happens when your startup list get fatigued by a load of several programs. Lighten your PC by removing all these unnecessary programs & luckily Windows Vista got his own special application for doing this named as “Windows Defender”

  1. Start Windows Defender
  2. Click on Tools
  3. Click Software Explorer
  4. In the Category box, click Startup Programs
  5. Select the program that you want to remove from Startup & click Disable
  6. Confirm the selection by clicking Yes

Disable Network Resources

Vista seeks through all active wired and wireless networks for any network in range. These processes take a lot of time. So if you have any network device in your system in your system that you don’t use. It’s recommended that you disable it.

  1. Browse through Control Panel
  2. Click on Manage network connections
  3. Then disable each Network Connections that you are not using

Though Vista’s minimum requirement is 1 gigabyte (GB) of system memory but its better you add up some more memory in it. A 2 gigabyte (GB) Ram will provide you the extra juice to run your windows smoother.
